The Women's Center

Board of Directors

The Women's Center, Inc., is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of community members representing all areas served by the Center. The Board consists of up to 15 members (women and men) serving 3-year terms. Ours is a working board, very active in fundraising, policymaking, programming, and strategic planning for the Center. The Board meets routinely on the second Monday of each month. In addition, each Board member is expected to make a commitment to serve on at least one of the standing committees: Personnel, Finance, Fundraising, Shelter Advisory, Rape Crisis Services Advisory, and Satellite Community Advisory. Standing committees are comprised of staff, board members, and community members working together to deal with operational concerns.

Annual elections of new board members are held in April at the Center's annual meeting. If you are interested in serving on the Board of Directors, please contact the Executive Director at (618) 549-4807, ext. 231, and request a board application packet.
