The Women's Center

Our Mission and Philosophy

The mission of The Women's Center, Inc. is to end domestic violence and sexual assault against women, men, adolescents, and children in Southern Illinois and to assist survivors of these crimes and their non-offending significant others.

How do we accomplish this mission?

Our staff, interns, and volunteers use a feminist counseling approach, which means that we believe in providing as much information about options and choices as possible to all of our clients. We support them in making their own decisions about their own lives.

We are pro-choice in all aspects of women's social, educational, financial, family, and legal rights. We perform our services without making judgments and without bias. Our advocacy is on behalf of the survivor of violence as guided by and centered on the survivor herself or himself.

All of our services are confidential and free of charge.
