A Night to Benefit The Women's Center

Come out to Club Traz for the night.  Join host and MC extraordinaire, Blanche DuBois, as she hosts a fabulous line up of performers.  An eclectic mix of music will include techno, dance, house and retro.   It is sure to be a fun night.  Door cover is $5.  The proceeds benefit The Center.

 

Little Black Dress

A woman wanted to have a party.  Then, she decided to make it a fundraiser for The Center too.   

Well, she throws a great party!  Last year, 500 women showed up to enjoy wine, food, entertainment and a good time with friends.  Join us this year for the 2nd time around.

 

Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October 2008

There are many activities to become more involved in the movement to end domestic violence and bring awareness to this important health issue.  The clothesline project, speak outs, film screenings, art shows and Take Back The Night are components of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Time for Chocolate

Taste of Chocolate Festival

Join The Center for its 9th Annual, Taste of Chocolate Festival, Time for Chocolate.  Last years' participants know, it was the best year ever!  Many restaurants, caters and beverage vendors provided an eclectic mix of items.  Those included both desserts and some specialty menu items like chocolate chutney, chicken mole, and chili with cocoa. For those that are committed to traditional chocolate desserts-- don't worry.  Last years' guests will tell you, there were plenty of dessert menu items too.  In fact, the most amount of chocolate and money raised occurred last year.  We hope you will help us top this in 09!!

The Monologues will educate and empower you! The performances are captivating; usually bringing one to tears and laughter.  The monologues are award winning, universal and provide the opportunity to break the silence and create social change.

 

Sexual Assault Awareness Month

April 2009

The Women's Center will provide opportunities for the community to speak out against rape and raise awareness about sexual assault.  In the past, the clothesline project, speak outs, film screenings, art shows and Rock Out Against Rape have been scheduled for April.  Please check this site for specific dates and times as April nears.

 

9th Annual Golf Scramble

Last years' event underwriters, B and A Travel Service and Venegoni Distributing provided wonderful support to The Center's scramble.  The Center would like to add 2 - 3 event underwriters to next year's event.   Maybe, you would like to join The Center's long term supporters, B and A Travel Service and Venegoni Distributing in 09. 

The day includes 18 holes of golf, cart, lunch, beverages, hole in one and closest to the pin prizes and raffles.  It is a great way to promote your business, network, support a good cause and have some fun on a Friday afternoon.
